Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia’s official introductory program, providing a fun and inclusive Basketball experience for 5-10 year-olds that serves as an introduction to a lifetime of involvement in the game. In addition to promoting healthy and active lifestyles, the program serves as a platform for social development and inclusion – fostering stronger and more vibrant communities and individuals.

Aussie Hoops has been designed in three staged programs to ensure that for each age group, participants are participating in activities and games that are relevant to their physical and mental capabilities, which will increase in competitiveness until participants are ready to transition into local club competitions.

 

Term 2, 2026

Aussie Hoops runs on the NSW school terms.

Term 2 of Aussie Hoops commences the week starting 20 April 2026.

Wednesday, Friday & Saturday sessions will conclude the week ending 5 July 2026.

 

 

We run 3 Aussie Hoops sessions a week:

Wednesdays

  • At Guzman y Gomez Stadium
  • 4pm – 4:45pm

Fridays

  • At Central Coast Adventist School
  • 4pm – 4:45pm

Saturdays (Limited Sessions)

  • At Guzman y Gomez Stadium
  • 8am-9am
  • Due to the NBL1 East Season, Aussie Hoops on a Saturday WILL BE RUNNING on the followings Saturdays ONLY:

*All NEW Aussie Hoops participants will receive a new and improved participant pack. This pack will provide children with the essential items required to begin their basketball journey.

The Participant Pack includes:

  • Size 4 Spalding Basketball – Modified to suit smaller hands and modelled on Basketball Australia’s official game ball.
  • Personalised Aussie Hoops singlet – With your child’s name and Local Aussie Hoops delivery center logo.
  • Sticker Sheet – Featuring all 8 of the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) teams.

 

  • A fun and engaging basketball program, delivered by accredited coaches
  • Offers to students for continued basketball involvement at a local club
  • Nationally endorsed program that is linked to curriculum outcomes
