The Stadium was officially opened in 1993, under the name Gosford City Basketball and Sports Stadium, this name originated from the Gosford City Basketball competition, which was originally held in Gosford, prior to the stadium being constructed. At this time, the stadium had 500 founding members. Whilst constructed on Council land, the venue was built independently and operated by a volunteer Board of Directors and appointed management and staff. The venue received no significant financial assistance from Local, State or Federal Government and the organisation gained a loan with National Australia Bank. This loan no longer exits and we are working towards growing our facilities.

Central Coast Basketball now has approximately 3,000 registered members who participate in activities held on a weekly basis. The organisations core business is basketball, with the facility offering a multi-purpose indoor venue with 4 championship-sized courts and a grandstand capable of housing up to 1000 people. In addition to this, there is significant office space, an air-conditioned mezzanine with cooking facilities, which can cater for small classes, seminars and functions, and a cafe which has a wide variety of food & beverages. Along with events such as expos, computer markets, book fairs and trade shows, we also host regular indoor sporting competitions like Netball and Volleyball. Central Coast Basketball is the home of the Central Coast Rebels and Central Coast Crusaders representative programs who compete in Basketball NSW competitions and events. Our senior Crusaders men’s and women’s teams joined the NBL1 East competition in 2022 seeing our local teams compete in a national competition with state conferences.

We are excited about what’s ahead for Central Coast Basketball and our local community. Our goal to increase our number of basketball courts and the upgrade the facilities to enable growth for our sport both at representative and community level. Our team are committed to excellence both on and off the court and are on a path of continuous improvement to ensure a premium experience for everyone visiting our stadium, competing in our local Leagues or representing our Club at State and National levels.
