Coastal Classic is an annual pre-season event for junior representative teams in NSW run by Central Coast Basketball. Attracting teams from all over NSW, this premier event is seen as a great way to prepare teams for the upcoming representative season. The competition is run over two consecutive weekends with the division 2 competition preceding division 1.

The Central Coast is a great end of summer destination and teams are encouraged to enjoy our waterways, restaurants and activities for team building opportunities.

Coastal Classic 2024 

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN! The division 2 weekend nominations will be closing on Monday 15 January. The division 1 weekend nominations will be closing Monday 5 February. This date is to allow any division 1 teams participating in the JPL qualifying competition to nominate after this comp.

Friday 2 Feb – Sunday 4 Feb: Division 2 Tournament 

Friday 16 Feb – Sunday 18 Feb: Division 1 Tournament 

Team Nomination Fee – $600

Teams must provide a referee. If you fail to provide a referee, the team will incur a $600 fee. 

The format of the tournament will be that each team plays 3 games over the course of the weekend. Crossover games will be held on Sunday afternoons where teams will have the opportunity to progress to the Grand Final which will be held at Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium.

The draw will be released one (1) week prior to each tournament and will be accessible via our website ccbasketball.com.au

The game times will be as follows:

  • Friday: 6:10pm and 7:30pm
  • Saturday: Between 8:00am and 8:30pm
  • Sunday: Between 8:00am and 1:15pm

Each team is required to nominate a referee that will be required to officiate each game that their team plays throughout the course of the weekend. If a team fails to provide a referee, they will incur a $600 fee. 

Referees are required to be at AD level  to ensure they are competent for the standard of games that will be played during the tournament. Referees are required to wear black shorts, black and white striped shirts and provide their own whistle.

Each team is required to provide two adults for score bench duty. Due to the size of the competition, all scoring will be done on paper score sheets.

Coastal Classic will be played over multiple venues on the Central Coast to ensure that we provide teams with the maximum possible games and opportunities to compete.

  • Niagara Park Stadium 
  • Central Coast Adventist School 
  • Central Coast Grammar School 
  • Bateau Bay PCYC
